PROTON COMES TO THE AID OF FLOOD VICTIMS

SUBANG JAYA, 28 December 2011– National car company PROTON has announced a nationwide ‘PROTON I-Care Prihatin Banjir’ flood relief programme to assist flood victims whose Proton cars have been damaged by the flood. The programme kicks off on 29 December 2011 and will run until 29 February 2012.
The programme offers affected Proton car owners free inspection and assessment of the damages, free towing within a 5km radius of selected PROTON authorised service centres and a 20 percent discount on the purchase of PROTON Genuine Parts.
“We understand how difficult it can be for people who are affected in flood-prone areas. Year after year they face the same problems and damages to their property and belonging, which may include their Proton cars. For most families, it can be one of the biggest spending of their household,” said En. Ahmad Suhaimi Mohamad Anuar, Chief Executive Officer of Proton Edar Sdn. Bhd.
“We also understand the unexpected stress on our customers whose cars are caught and damaged by flash flood. Previously, flood was a common occurrence in the East Coast but nowadays it happens all over the country, even in KL, when you least expected it. With this programme and customer care being our top priority, we hope to do our part in helping to relieve the burden of our valued customers,” he added.
The flood relief programme is part of PROTON’s community outreach programme which also involves a road show by PROTON to several locations in Kelantan, Perlis, Pahang and Johor. The road show had begun earlier on 23 and 24 December 2011 at the Kompleks Perniagaan Saidina Ali in Kok Lanas, Kelantan and at the SCH Service Center in Kangar, Perlis on the 24 and 25 December 2011.
