UMW TOYOTA MOTOR AIMS FOR 80 3S OUTLETS BY 2013

IPOH, July 18 – UMW Toyota Motor announced today it is aiming for a total of 80 Toyota sales, service and spare-parts (3S) centre by the year 2013. The company is investing RM300 million to enhance its sales and aftersales facilities to cater for the increasing number of Toyota vehicles.

The announcement was made at the official opening event of the company’s latest 3S facility in Jalan Kuala Kangsar, Ipoh. Officiating the event were YBhg Tan Sri Asmat Kamaludin, Chairman, UMW Toyota Motor Sdn. Bhd., Mr. Takashi Hibi, Deputy Chairman, UMW Toyota Motor Sdn. Bhd. and En. Ismet Suki, President of UMW Toyota Motor Sdn. Bhd.

Speaking at the ceremony, En. Ismet Suki, President of UMW Toyota Motor Sdn. Bhd. said, “For the past five years (2006-2010), UMW Toyota Motor has invested over RM400 million to improve our sales and after sales network.”

He also said, “As a testimony of our commitment towards customers, from this year until 2013, we have allocated RM300 million to further upgrade our facilities“

“We also encouraged our dealers’ nation-wide to enhance their existing 1S outlet into 3S outlet to cater for the growing number of Toyota customers,” he added.

Currently, UMW Toyota Motor has 90 sales outlets and 62 after sales outlets, strategically located throughout the country. From the number, there are 57 Toyota 3S outlets and with the plans in place, it hoped to increase to 80 Toyota 3S outlets by 2013. Among upgrading projects in the pipe line are in the North, East and Sarawak region.

The new Ipoh 3S outlet is considered as UMW Toyota Motor premier 3S facility in the state of Perak and set to provide better facilities for customers, all under one roof. The company has spent RM26 million to upgrade its facility in order to deliver its brand promise and the Toyota Quality Experience to customers.

The 3S centre, featuring a 2.7 acres land, has a total built up area of more than 16,000 (16,158) square meter. It is equipped with a spacious sales showroom that can display up to 7 cars, service centre that can service up to 156 vehicles daily and a conducive waiting lounge with internet facilities for customers. It also has a Body and Paint Centre which can service up to 6 vehicles per day.

With the investment in placed, UMW Toyota Motor is committed to provide comprehensive services to its customers and expects to strengthen its position as the top selling non-national brand in the country.
