Volkswagen Group Malaysia Launches Showroom in Ipoh, Perak

Ipoh, 1 December 2011- Volkswagen Group Malaysia (VGM), a subsidiary of Volkswagen AG and Goh Brothers Motor, an authorized dealer of VGM, has officially launched Goh Brothers Motor’s Volkswagen showroom in Ipoh.

In his speech at the launch, Mr. Ricky Tay, Managing Director, VGM said the launch of the showroom is in line with VGM’s rapid expansion plans in Malaysia and also to ensure customer satisfaction throughout the region.

“Volkswagen’s presence in the northern region will further strengthen VGM’s nationwide network as well as bringing the Volkswagen brand and service closer to customers and Volkswagen lovers in this region”, he said.

“Volkswagen‘s main guiding principles in Network Development are Optimised Coverage, Customer Oriented, Dealer Profitability and Investor Friendly, all of which are values shared by Goh Brothers, and they are thus equally keen to translate these principles into business achievements and results, “ Tay added.

Goh Brothers Motor have been in the automotive industry for the more than 23 years, with experience dealing with both local and international car brands as well as experience in the after-market car business.

Goh Brothers Motor was appointed an official authorized Volkswagen dealer in May 2007. To date, Volkswagen has 10 showrooms all over Malaysia.

Volkswagen Group Malaysia Sdn Bhd was incorporated with the Malaysian Registrar of Companies (ROC) in December 2005 and launched its corporate headquarters at Wisma UOA Bangsar in February 2006. It was a declaration to the Malaysians that it had established operations in the country with the intention to bring in Volkswagen passenger vehicles to Malaysia.

The company appointed DRB-Hicom Auto Solutions Sdn Bhd (DHAS) in 2009 as its Malaysian importer and most recently, signed an agreement with DRB-HICOM Berhad for local assembly of Volkswagen cars, which was done in the presence of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak. This was in line with the Volkswagen Group’s expansion activities in Southeast Asia under its Strategy 2018 growth program.
