Volkswagen Kicks Off New Year with Kuantan Showroom Launch

Kuantan, 4 January 2012- Volkswagen Group Malaysia (VGM), a subsidiary of Volkswagen AG and Okuan Otomobil Sdn. Bhd, an authorised dealer of VGM, has officially launched the Volkswagen showroom in Kuantan, Pahang.

Volkswagen Group Malaysia’s Managing Director Mr. Ricky Tay said the launch of the showroom is part of Volkswagen’s rapid expansion plans in Malaysia, which was carried out extensively last year to extend the customer satisfaction experience.

Volkswagen has been dynamically expanding their dealership network in the fourth quarter of last year, with two new dealerships in Kuching and Ipoh. This new dealerships extends the brand’s reach to customers in the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia.

“As the first showroom to be launched in 2012, we believe Okuan Otomobil will set the pace for Volkswagen to further strengthen its brand awareness and customer service in the region, especially in the state of Pahang,” he said.

“VGM is confident that Okuan Otomobil will be able to fulfil Volkswagen’s main guiding principles for Network Development, namely Optimised Coverage, Customer Orientation, Dealers’ Profitability and Investor Friendliness to their daily business practices, thus translating them into business achievements and results.” Mr Tay added.

With the Kuantan opening, the Volkswagen brand has 17 operational outlets nationwide.

About Volkswagen Group Malaysia

Volkswagen Group Malaysia Sdn Bhd was incorporated with the Malaysian Registrar of Companies (ROC) in December 2005 and launched its corporate headquarters at Wisma UOA Bangsar in February 2006. It was a declaration to the Malaysians that it had established operations in the country with the intention to bring in Volkswagen passenger vehicles to Malaysia.
