NISSAN NAVARA – TRUCK OF THE YEAR, LIVE LIFE DRIVE CAR OF THE YEAR 2011 & 2012 AWARD BY WHEELS WEEKLY
(KUALA LUMPUR, 26th November 2011) - Edaran Tan Chong Motor Sdn Bhd (ETCM) is pleased to announce that Nissan Navara has won the Truck of the Year in the LIVE LIFE DRIVE Car of the Year 2011 & 2012 Awardpresented by Wheels Weekly.
Commenting on the Award, Dato’ Dr Ang Bon Beng, Executive Director of ETCM said, “Since launched in 2008, Navara is well-known for its synonym as the “Mother” of all pickup trucks in Malaysia. With class leading features, Navara continues to sell beyond expectations from year to year and having garnered many prestigious awards and recognitions globally. Live Life Drive Car of the Year Award is an initiative by Wheels Weekly to honor the best vehicles in Malaysia during the qualifying period. Each model is evaluated on its safety, comfort, efficiency, practicality, performance, design and specification levels.
NISSAN NAVARA
Nissan Navara is highly rated for its toughness, off-road capabilities and comfort across the world. In Malaysia, apart from the 2WD Calibre (5AT), ETCM has also introduced several other variants for 4WD such as the standard edition & safety edition (6MT), King Cab (6MT) and Double Cab (5AT). In addition, the 4WD models are featuring the electronically controlled ‘Shift-on-the-Fly’ 4WD system which allows the shifting between 2WD and 4WD without having to stop the vehicle as long as one is travelling at less than 100km/h.
Nissan Navara uses the powerful YD25DDTi 4-cylinder common rail direct injection diesel engine. This 2.5-Litre turbo-charged engine incorporates a Variable Nozzle Turbine (VNT) and intercooler for strong response. Apart from its muscular and aggressive exterior styling, Nissan Navara is sculpted from the toughest of materials, giving it the fortitude to withstand any abuse that comes its way. The suspension of the Navara also offers surefooted stability and ride comfort in all driving conditions.
