The Launching of NAZA NZ125R & Chinese New Year Open House Celebration

Petaling Jaya, February 16, 2012 – NAZA Bikes Sdn Bhd, a company under the umbrella of NAZA Group of Companies, today launched their latest offering of the 125cc segment motorcycle – NAZA NZ125R. Apart from the product launch, NAZA World also hosted an extravagant Chinese New Year Open House.
The launch of NAZA NZ125R was officiated by YB Senator Dato' Ir. Donald Lim Siang Chai, Deputy Minister of Finance. Present were Mr. Wee Hong, President of Malaysia Motorcycle & Scooter Dealers Association , Datuk Wira SM Faisal Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin, NAZA Group of Companies Joint Group Executive Chairman and Dato' SM Zulkifli SM Amin, NAZA Group of Companies Group Chief Operating Officer joining over 1,000 crowd.

"Since the incorporation of NAZA Bikes in 2003, NAZA Bikes has successfully introduced 14 different models of motorcycles and was the first Malaysian manufacturer to local assembling big bikes within the 250cc to 650cc range at affordable prices in the local market. This is in tandem with the NAZA Group vision and NAZA's own history, and is a major step forward in line with my late father's aspiration", said Datuk Wira SM Faisal.

The manufacturing plant in Shah Alam was officiated in 2003 by the former Prime Minister, YAB Tun Abdullah bin Haji Ahmad Badawi. All NAZA motorcycles are produced at its 24,000 sq ft facility plant in Shah Alam, which includes its research and development centre, assembly lines, pre-delivery inspection, after sales and distribution centre for nationwide delivery.
The motorcycles produced by NAZA are in collaboration with its partners from Korea, Taiwan and China. NAZA is committed to sourcing the best technological partners to develop reliable, affordable and efficient motorcycles.
Prior to this, NAZA Bikes was a small scale motorcycle manufacturer that emphasized on scooter and 250cc motorcycles. With the launching of this NZ125R, NAZA Bikes will be able to compete with the other underbone brands in Malaysia.

NAZA NZ125R, is a 4-stroke air-cooled engine that complies to the Euro 2 Emission standards. Among the exceptional feature of the bike is the economical fuel consumption that can reach up to 65km per liter at speed of not more than 80km/hr, the best in its class. It is estimated that the owner of NZ125R can save up to RM500 per year on fuel consumption. NZ125R also is the only underbone in the market that is equipped with electrical power point. The feature will convenient the rider for charging hand phone, plug in the GPS and for other practical usages.

Datuk Wira SM Faisal stated "In designing the bike, we took into consideration of many factors to match the design with the customers' need. Foremost on our mind is to develop a bike that will help the low-income earner save on fuel consumption and maintenance. Value-added feature such as electrical power point is practical feature not offered by our competitors. Our long-term objective of NAZA Bikes is to be a full-fledged motorcycle manufacturing company that can fully develop our own indigenous product. We want to become a respectable and international well-known player. The launch of the NZ125R model is the first effort of NAZA Bikes to be a serious contender in the underbone category locally and internationally.

The design of NZ125R was fully undertaken by the engineers of NAZA Bikes. This model took 18 months to be completed and 35% of the components were produced in Malaysia. This percentage will be further increase to 60% in the coming 24 months.
NZ125R was test driven as far as 20,000 KM in order to ensure its quality and competency in comparison with the others motorcycles of the same category. It was also driven as much as 2,700KM by an independent rider in the period of two weeks to prove its reliability, resistibility and quality.

The average market for the underbone category for the past three years in is 400,000 units. 75% of the market share was dominated by Honda and Yamaha. These two brands have been presence in the market since 60's. The designs and technology of the bikes produced emphasizes on the current needs of the market. These two factors were the key success for the Japanese brands in all over the world.
In 2012, NAZA Bikes aimed to sell 30,000 units of motorcycles in the cub category which is equivalent to 7.5% of the market share. As for the year 2013, NAZA Bikes targets to sell 100,000 units or 25% of market share for the underbone category.
The NAZA NZ125R is available for sale at basic selling price of RM 3,788.00. The bike will be available at selected dealers showroom from this weekend.
Every year, NAZA World plays host to hundreds of friends, patrons and family members during locally celebrated cultural festivals such as Hari Raya and Deepavali. This year, NAZA World held a Chinese New Year Open House in conjunction with the launch of NAZA NZ125R at the NAZA Automall Petaling Jaya.

In fact, the national conglomerate went the extra mile; inviting not only its nearest and dearest friends and customers, but also the public; with approximately 1,000 attending the event.
Datuk Wira SM Faisal stated "Over the years we have hosted open houses for Hari Raya and, most recently, Deepavali or the 'Festival of Lights'. We feel it's important to appreciate and celebrate Malaysia's cultural diversity. This Lunar New Year, just as we have done for several years, we are celebrating the year of the Dragon with our Chinese friends and patrons."
Guests dressed in dazzling and vibrant traditional Chinese attire; forming a sea of vivid colours throughout the brightly decorated auto-mall. The buffet tables were lined with mouth-watering Chinese delicacy, with the hypnotic aroma of sumptuous foods filling the air. The place really came alive with the Chinese music and cultural performances that captivated everyone present. Staff and guests cheered with the announcement for the winners of the best-dressed awards.
Three charity homes, Rumah Orang-orang Tuan Sri Setia, Pertubuhan Orang Cacat Cina Malaysia and Pertubuhan Kebajikan Kanak-kanak Shelter were invited to join in the festivities. In keeping with its passion for CSR activities, NAZA World made a contribution of RM 5,000.00 to each home and the occupants of the house were delighted with their individual 'Ang Pao' packets.
