Honda Accord 2.4 VTi-L
The Accord has always been a reliable, safe and slightly edgier midsize segment luxury sedan. The model has evolved tremendously if one were to take a look at the new lines of the new Accord model. Introduced last year, the new Honda Accord, with its new maxim of “Ambition has no limits” has really defined their stand on being bold, stylish, and elegant.
The Honda Accord comes in 3 main variants, which are the 2.0VTI, 2.4L, and the 3.5L. Making its debut last year is the new addition of the 2.0 VTi-L, making it a total of 4 variants to the Honda Accord line up. The new 2.0 VTi-L, comes in Tafetta White, with enhancements of full black leather seats, new interior decking colors, fully functional driver electronic seat and an all new electronic cruise controller located on the driver’s steering.
The 8th Generation Accord evokes an all new emotion that makes a refined and sophisticated statement with pure luxury and performance in mind. The car has a bold frontal nose, with the lights slightly angled making it look bolder creating a daring stance with its muscular arches. The Honda Accord was designed specifically for a wider track and body in mind thus making the car exceptionally nice to drive and also ease of handling. No surprises whilst driving it quick as it handles the bends steadily. Equipped with a new compact in-wheel Multi-link Rear Suspension, road noise, vibration and harshness has been reduced, with a 40% improvement in rigidity.
The Honda Accord has a near flat bottom providing greater aerodynamic efficiency with its stamped steel frame rails sitting inside the sedan’s body. A flatter bottom helps mileage and reduces interior noise from undercarriage turbulence. The 2.0 VTi and VTi-L share the same engine with a max power of 156ps at 6300rpm and torque at 189Nm at 4300rpm. Revving up the engine from stand still is sweet with its torque curve at the mid range providing excellent acceleration for daily driving. The Accord’s engine punch is great as the torque curve just sits on the power band waiting for instant delivery. This is great especially in cities or suburb areas where you want to get on and off the gas pedal quickly. Slight engine roar is apparent if one were to push the rev limits, but only on the higher rpms where it is noticeable.
Ride comfort is great with the new black leather interior. The dashboard is split into two main sections and pushes forward towards the windscreen. The centre dashboard panel is also designed for higher visibility with its large buttons and simplistic layout. The centre panel provides ease of use with its simple operability having every button available for any main application. All Accords also have the WMA / MP3 cable link in the centre console as a standard option. Class leading in its class for cabin space, the Honda Accord is indeed large on the inside and encompasses a rear folding seat for large cargos. A multi function tilt and telescopic steering column is fitted standard on all Accord models, making it a very adaptable car for any driver. The interior cabin as a whole is simple, functional, and adequate.
